Our Gospel lesson for today begins where we left off last week right after Jesus had rebuked His disciples for their lack of faith in casting an evil spirit out of a young boy. After that event Jesus and His disciples entered a house so that He could be alone with them in order to teach them the reason for their failure. In today’s text we find Jesus and His disciples leaving that place, and heading back through Galilee to His home-base city of Capernaum; upon their arrival they again go privately into a house where Jesus continues His instruction; Instruction that was very much needed, as we’ll soon see.
